Maggies Tanks ("we," "us," "our") operates the website maggiestanks.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from visitors and customers, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

Information you give us directly:
- Name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number when you place an order, sign up for emails/SMS, or contact customer support
- Payment information (card details) — this is collected and processed directly by our payment processors (see Section 4); we do not store your full card number on our own servers
- Any information you include in customer support messages or, if you choose to submit one, a product review
Information collected automatically:
- Device and browser information, IP address, and pages viewed on the Site, collected via cookies and similar technologies
- Approximate location (derived from IP address)
- How you arrived at the Site (e.g., from a Google or Meta/Instagram ad, a search engine, or a direct visit)
- Shopping behavior on the Site, such as products viewed, items added to cart, and abandoned checkouts
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Process and fulfill your orders, including shipping and customer service
- Communicate with you about your order, and, if you've opted in, send marketing emails or SMS about new products, promotions, or restocks

4. Who we share your information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the store:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the Site and processes orders on our behalf
- Stripe and PayPal — our payment processors, to securely process your payment
- Shipping and fulfillment providers — to ship your order and provide tracking
- Shopify Email — our email/SMS marketing tool, if you've opted in to receive marketing messages
- Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook/Instagram Ads) — to show ads and measure their performance. These providers may set their own cookies; see Section 6.
- Law enforcement or regulators, but only when required by law
If we introduce a third-party review platform to collect and display product reviews and photos, this policy will be updated to name that provider before it goes live.
Each of these providers only receives the information they need to do their job and is bound by their own privacy and data-handling obligations.
5. Data retention
We keep your order information for as long as needed to fulfill legal, accounting, and tax obligations, in line with standard UK recordkeeping practice this is typically 6 years from the end of the financial year an order falls in. If you create an account or opt in to marketing, we retain that information until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe.

We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep items in your cart as you browse
- Remember your preferences
- Measure Site traffic and how visitors use the Site (analytics)
- Show you relevant ads and measure ad performance (advertising cookies from Google and Meta)

8. UK and EU data protection rights (GDPR)
Platinum Sage is registered in the United Kingdom, so UK GDPR applies to how we handle personal data as a matter of course, not only when a visitor happens to be in the UK. If we sell to customers in the European Union, EU GDPR applies to that processing as well.
Our legal bases for processing your information are: performance of a contract (fulfilling your order), your consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), and our legitimate interests (for fraud prevention and improving the Site).
If you are a UK resident, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. If you are an EU resident, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a UK or EU consumer, you also have a statutory right to cancel and return most orders within 14 days of delivery, in addition to the guarantee described in our Refund Policy.
9. Additional notice for California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (which can include the use of advertising cookies described in Section 6).

10. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and our payment processors are PCI-DSS compliant. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
